Firm Overview

Durham-Chapel Hill-Raleigh Family Law Firm

Since 1994, when she graduated from North Carolina State and began working for the juvenile court system in Wake County, Alyscia G. Ellis has dedicated her career to working with families in crisis.

After working for the juvenile court system, Ms. Ellis enrolled in North Carolina Central University School of Law's evening program. While in law school, she worked as a clerk in a local family law firm, where, over the course of a decade, she progressed from being an associate attorney to a partner of the firm.

Board Certified Family Law Specialist

Today Ms. Ellis is the founder and sole practitioner of her own law firm in Durham. Her office is located where highways 15 and 501 cross over Interstate 40 near the Durham-Chapel Hill line. She is presently one of only five practicing lawyers in Durham County to be designated a board certified family law specialist by the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization.

In addition to being a family law attorney, Alyscia G. Ellis is also a parent who knows first-hand the fears and uncertainties involved with the legal process. She brings that experience to the table every time she meets with and advises a client. If you are going through a divorce or have ongoing custody or child support issues, Ms. Ellis can easily put herself in your shoes and understand what you are going through. She can help you resolve all divorce issues including child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support and marital property division.

Alyscia G. Ellis is deeply involved in the communities of Durham-Chapel Hill. She teaches a self-help divorce clinic in Durham and also teaches equitable distribution law at the Orange County Women's Center.
